Minister Jerry Dixson is mighty man of God who enjoys studying the word of GOD. He has served GOD for the past twenty-one years in the Ministries of Pastor, Preacher, Teacher, along with the Gifts of Wisdom and the Gifts of Discernment to name a few. Minister Dixson has a compassionate heart and is awesomely gifted and skilled to build and repair homes. He as been in construction and carpentry for the last 33 years lovingly trained by his father Booker T. After Hurricane Isaac his experience afforded him the opportunity to work for Brown Construction Company where he became Forman as he assisted in the rehabbing of the Pensacola Florida Naval Base Buildings that were damaged by the storm. By the time he was ready to come back to Mississippi, Hurricane Katrina hit. The church he Pastored was Love Joy Peace Ministries in Petal, Ms. He was a dedicated volunteer Pastor, when Katrina hit he came back to work on the church. Which was a blessing we were able travel from Petal to Biloxi & Gulfport to feed over 1500 people before even red cross could get there. Shortly afterwards the church became a disaster relief center for dry foods and personal hygiene items which lasted almost two years. Close to the closeout of the relief efforts at Love Joy Peace. A Minister out of California heard about the Church Pastor Jerry’s ministry and work. They called to see if the could come to Petal to stay and travel to New Orleans to volunteer; not ever seeing any of them before Pastor Jerry welcomed them in to stay as long as need and when ever they wanted to stay. An awesome unity of God’s people was born that very day. Pastor Jerry and his wife were asked to go with them to volunteer. The said they need someone who had a passion for rebuilding souls, families and homes with construction experience and felt he was the right fit. He and his wife journed to Canal Presbyterian Church after three days of volunteering. The Leader of their Disaster Relief Ministry said they had gutted out 200 homes but had no one who was experience enough to put them by together again. This is when they asked Pastor Jerry if he would consider taking on this task. The leader of the Ministry got together and told him they felt he was the one called for this by God. Still not having the money to pay him to train the volunteers how to rehab the homes, they ask if he would come purely on faith and to trust God to give him a salary Pastor Jerry said yes. Pastor Jerry took a Job in Mississippi the here again came the Baton Rouge Flood. He is the Minister over Love In Action Mission at Franklin Avenue Baptist Church. A ministry formed to help people who have been through some type of disaster. He was placed over Love In Action not even 9 months ago. After the Flood he went to the Senior Pastor to ask if he would allow him to form teams to go help the people in Baton Rouge La. It was already on the Pastors heart. So he began taking groups over. In Baton Rouge at the moment, Pastor Jerry, assisted twenty-six families and worked on eight houses, completed furniture removal and gutted out six houses to God be the Glory.
