Nicks entreprenuer spirit and willingness to help all people in need made being on the Board a great fit. Working on programs to strengthen the community starting with children is dear to his heart. He believes in the cause and has been a dedicated member with his time and his money.
Betsey is a Native New Yorker born to West Indian parents who has resided in Maryland for the past 26 years. The path Betsey took over the past 20 years, illustrates the wide array of possibilities when one takes the love of God, the love of people’s well-being and the use of professional skills to make a difference in society. Betsey built her social work and EAP career upon an undergraduate degree in Biology from Morgan State University. She espouses the value of networking in creating work opportunities. Betsey completed a social work field placement at the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM), while a student at University of Maryland School of Social Work (UMSSW). After this, she was hired as an EAP Counselor at COPE, Inc. Subsequently, Betsey held positions as a PRN social worker in several social services arena working with various populations to include substance abuse, HIV/AIDS, foster care, and the elderly. She then returned to the federal government where she worked for four different federal agencies. Currently, Betsey works as a Work-Life Wellness Coordinator, overseeing work life programs in one of the government agencies in the DC Metro area. Betsey is a License Graduate Social Worker (LGSW) in the state of Maryland, a Certified Wellness Program Coordinator (CWPC) and a Health Promotions Director. Whether in the private sector or in the government Betsey’s love for people and their well-being is transcend in the work she has done.
